Foals – A Knife In The Ocean
Foals’ released their fourth studio album ‘What Went Down’ last month. The band teased it’s ardent fans, pre-releasing a diverse quartet of tracks which gave a flavour of what to come. The hype surrounding the comeback of one of Britain’s most well established indie-rock outfits accelerated with an exclusive intimate set for Radio 1 at Maida Vale and the heavily rumoured secret set performance at Reading and Leeds on the weekend of the record’s release.
Our pick of the singles ‘A Knife In The Ocean’ gathers many of the signature aspects of Foals’ most appealing credentials. The ‘Spanish Sahara’ of the LP is atmospheric in it’s sound and culminates in a crescendo of brilliant noise, complimented by frontman Yannis’ ever-impressive vocals. This isn’t an album we’ll be forgetting anytime soon.
