Daughter are back after a two year hiatus, and we’re stoked. New single ‘Doing The Right Thing’ builds on their beautifully dark debut record ‘If You Leave’ – with an anthemic feel and downright disturbing themes, the band do not relent in their latest output. Elena Tonra’s voice remains as enchanting as ever, as the track stirs emotions through resonant guitar riffs and evocatively bleak lyrics such as ‘I have lost my children, I have lost my love // I just sit in silence, let the pictures soak // Out of televisions’.
This is a brilliant comeback and only further establishes Daughter as one of the most underrated acts on the scene right now. New album ‘Not To Disappear’ will be available from January 15th 2016!
The band have also announced a trio of UK shows in November. Tickets go on sale from 9am on October 2nd here: http://ohdaughter.com/live/
